Alan Rosenblatt, Ph.D., Executive Director, Internet Advocacy Center

Alan Rosenblatt has been deeply involved in Digital Politics since the 1980's. He has has published extensively on digital political strategy, taught many university courses on the topic (starting in 1995), and is a frequent speaker at conferences around the country. In addition to being the Executive Director of the Internet Advocacy Center, he is the author of the blog DrDigiPol, a contributing author to the Media Cener's Morph blog, a contributing editor for Politics Online, an advisory board member for Democratic GAIN, and an advisor to Dulles Area Democrats, an online political community in Northern Virginia.

 
     
 

David Pierpont, Manager of Online Advocacy, National Wildlife Federation

David Pierpont is a seasoned expert at creating and cultivating online communities. He is the co-founder of the Dulles Area Democrats, an online/offline community of Democrats in Northern Virginia. He is also the co-founder of CAA Zone, a meta-community of Colonial Athletic Association schools' sports fans.

 
     
 

Andy Stocking, Care2.com

Andrew Stocking has for many years played an active role in strategic planning, developing new online organizing tools, and building partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Today Care2 is the largest online progressive network, bringing together consumers, non-profit organizations and socially responsible businesses. With more than 5 million members and activists, Care2.com is the premier site on the internet for people who care to help environmental and social causes and lead a healthier lifestyle.  

Prior to joining Care2, Andrew worked as an environmental engineer at the consulting firm Malcolm Pirnie and as an analyst for the The Mellman Group - a large democratic polling firm.  Andrew has an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a BS in Chemical Engineering, both from Stanford University.

 
     
 

Clinton O'Brien, VP, Business Development, Care2.com

Clinton O'Brien leads business development for Care2, which now has a growing audience of over 5 million people, making it the largest community of civic-minded “cultural creatives” and progressives on the Internet. In this role, O’Brien works with a wide spectrum of nonprofits, helping them to engage and recruit new supporters, members and donors from Care2’s civic-minded audience.

Prior to coming to Care2, O’Brien worked for seven years at PBS, first leading business development for the nonprofit TV network, and later heading the PBS Adult Learning Service, an educational arm of PBS supplying multimedia courses to colleges. O’Brien also helped local PBS member stations obtain the Web tools and know-how needed to migrate their list growth activities online. Previously, O’Brien worked for two years for New York book publisher Bantam Doubleday Dell as business manager for New Media.

O’Brien is a former investigative journalist, having won the National Press Club Outstanding Washington Correspondent award for a series of newspaper reports on toxic chemical polluters. In addition to the Environmental beat, O’Brien covered the U.S. Congress and later reported from 1991 to 1993 on the breakup of the USSR, while working as Moscow correspondent for the Associated Press and Newsweek. 

He holds an MBA from Wharton, and a BA from Brown University. He lives near Washington, DC with his wife and four children.

 
     
 

Heather Holdridge, Director of Political Advocacy, Care2.com 

Heather Holdridge serves as the Director of Political Advocacy for Care2, the largest online progressive community with over 5 million members. Holdridge is working to connect Care2’s audience to nonprofits doing political work and campaigns in 2006.  Care2’s members are interested in leading healthy lives and making a difference in the world, supporting progressive advocacy on issues as varied as women’s rights, environmental issues, human rights, animal rights, and consumer issues, among others.

Prior to Care2, Holdridge was a partner and Online Organizing Director for the Carol/Trevelyan Strategy Group, working with clients across the progressive spectrum to develop online campaigns and communications strategies. She specialized in customizing content for the Web, and working to develop viral interactive media. Her work included the development and growth of the Creative Multimedia department at CTSG, including executive producer and co-writer for media that have won Pollie awards and the popular Republican Survivor series for the DCCC in 2004.

 
     
 

Benjamin Barnett, President, Media Bureau Networks

Ben Barnett has been creating online video since the mid-1990's. By 2000, he had produced more than 1,500 hours of streaming and archived digital video. In 2000, Media Bureau streamed live programming each day from the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. More recently, Media Bureau has built the digital infrstructure of much of the City of Philadelphia's government services, produced music videos for bands including Arrested Development, and produced award-winning documentary films.
